A ministry assessment provides a comprehensive analysis of a congregation’s present ministry and effectiveness within its primary geographical target area. This analysis is a fee-based service led by a Kairos Consultant appointed to work with the congregation. The results of the analysis are delivered to the congregation in person at the conclusion of the assessment.
The Ministry Assessment Process
Data Request Form: The church is asked to provide historical, membership, financial, asset, and leadership information. Kairos may request outside opinions from the community as well to determine present values for assets and the church’s reputation in the area.
Demographic & Ethnographic Studies: Church leaders will help to determine the outside boundaries of the primary ministry community. Demographic and ethnographic reports will be obtained for the defined study area. Both Kairos and the church will have full rights to view the reports and possess copies for future decisions.
Congregational Survey: The consultant will work with the church to design a confidential survey to be distributed among the church members and regular attenders. A survey will be provided to each qualifying person and will also be available online for completion. The survey addresses various aspects of congregational life, doctrine, personal Christianity, ministry experience, finances and vision for the future.
Final Assessment Report: Upon the conclusion of the assessment, Kairos will schedule a presentation to the church and deliver an Executive Summary detailing its conclusions and recommendations. Copies of the supporting materials gathered during the analysis will be included.
